About Us

History

Faith Lutheran Child Development Center (CDC) has been caring for Austin's children for more than 45 years. It started as a ministry of Faith Lutheran Church in 1961, and although the school has evolved to meet the needs of the community, it has always kept the welfare and development of the child as its main concern.

Purpose

The CDC is a Christ-based child care and development center and an integral part of the ministry of Faith Lutheran Church. Believing education to be a life long process, the Center's purpose is to provide a high quality preschool and child care program in a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment where the children will be loved and encouraged to develop to their full potential. It also recognizes the needs of, and promotes the well being of, the families of the children. The Center welcomes children of any race, religion, or ethnic background.

Neighborhood

Nestled in the historic and centrally-located Crestview community, the CDC is easily assessable by 183, MoPac, I35 and 2222.

Teachers of Faith

Our teachers are truly what make the CDC so special. All are loving, nurturing, instructive, creative, and invested. They are full of energy and engaged with our children. We have teachers who have been with us more than 10 years and we're proud to say we have low turnover in our lead teacher positions so you and your child can be comfortable with classroom consistency.

Board of Directors

The school welcomes involvement from the church and parents of students at the CDC. In fact, encourages participation at the school by voluntary placement of both church members and parents, in addition to the school directors, on its Board of Directors. The board is a diverse group of people representing professional skill sets in the legal, human resources, construction and education fields, just to name a few.
